Sei-Ki on the Edge 2027

Alice and Alexandra launched “Sei-Ki on the Edge” in 2024. Since then, it has become an annual tradition and highlight. The location is unique, immersed in nature, on a mountain (Hohe Wand) just South of Vienna – easily accessible no matter where you are travelling from.

The residential setting of this workshop offers an opportunity for a more intense immersion into Sei-Ki and fosters community. The groups in the years so far have always been wonderfully mixed in terms of level of experience and places of origin.

Akinobu Kishi, the founder of Sei-Ki, used to share his work in residential settings every year. Alice and Alexandra have brought back this tradition and at the same time created something new. “Sei-Ki on the Edge” offers an expertly presented event bringing all the focus, community and journeying of the originals.

A Residential workshop is so much more than the sum of its parts. We can swim in the Sei-Ki atmosphere, in contact with nature, but without dissipating it through contact with the “erveryday” world. This helps subvert the idea that it is simply a technique for health and it embeds Sei-Ki as a way of life.

Sei-Ki on the Edge 2027 is open to everybody with or without previous experience in Sei-Ki!
So, your Sei-Ki journey could start right here!

Sei-Ki: The Way of Touch

Sei-Ki is the Way of Touch. A “way” is a discipline through which the practitioner trains themselves to see things as they truly are. Traditional Japanese “ways” include: the Way of Martial Arts, Budo; the Way of Tea, Chado; the Way of Calligraphy, Shodo; and others.

Sei-Ki: the Way of Touch. Even though it is not considered a formally recognized Japanese art form, it embodies the principles of a traditional Way. This is how its founder, Kishi Akinobu, understood it.

If you open yourself up to Sei-Ki, it will change the way you view and experience life. In a discipline like this, we are seekers, always curious and eager to learn. As seekers, we may not always be able to say what it is we’re looking for, but we know that it is of the utmost importance.

Sei-Ki is an authentic relationship that comes from the heart.
It is a resounding “yes” to everything that life IS.
Practicing Sei-Ki requires commitment and courage,
nourished by curiosity and joy.

I have made it my mission to present and promote Sei-Ki in the way I learned directly from Kishi.
I strive to perfect it, both out of love for the pure form and to pass it on intact to future generations.

Alice WhieldonSei-Ki Teacher

Sei-Ki is what I have long been searching for in Shiatsu.
It is what connects me to the nature of life in others and in myself.

I am determined to continue on this path and to share Sei-Ki in a genuine and authentic way with others and the world.
